Description: Time travel back 120 years for a leisurely stroll in the Bois de Boulogne Paris circa 1902. The Paris woodland and park was a fashionable promenade for Parisians of all classes during the belle epoch. This film is a window to the past at the turn of the 20th century. City streets were still dominated by the horse & carriage. However we see In the opening frames, an early French automobile - a De Dion Bouton. It scoots past the Porte Dauphine entrance to the Bois de Boulogne. These early cars were heralding in a noisier, faster and more polluted planet of the future. 1900s fashion still sees the long tails on ladies skirts. They required hoisting while moving. The ubiquitous walking skirt was only round the corner. Women wore large 'picture hats'. Decorated by ribbons and flowers, a new hat was a way to a woman's heart in those days. Bois de Boulogne Paris Once an ancient oak forest, the Bois de Boulogne ( Boulogne woodland) is a large public park ceded to Paris by Emperor Napoleon III in 1852. Sprinkled through the Bois de Boulogne are several lakes, botanical and floral gardens, a zoo and an amusement park. To the east is the Parc de Bagatelle. To the north, the Jardin d'Acclimatation and to the South, the greenhouses of Le Jardin des Serres d'Auteuil. This film is my second attempt at ai upscaling this footage. Last year we uploaded A Walk in the Park - Paris 1900. It was featured by CNN. Which was nice. But this version is superior in quality.
